I have been championing the independent boutique Aspire Style here on Molly and the Princess for some time (here and here), and today they have been featured in the Guardian G2 Christmas Gift Guide (here and here – I’ve bought those cupcake cases already). So by way of celebration I thought I would show you my two latest purchases from Aspire Style (any excuse!).
First up, the just-in and fabulous Fever Shiffer Dress:
It’s even more beautiful than in the photo on the Aspire Style website. Wool, fully-lined, cute capped rouched sleeves, and the beading on the neck detail is turquoise and sparkly – really lovely. I’ve teamed it here with patterned wool stockings and heels, but I think it would also look great with dark tights and flats, or with knee-high boots.
And I also bought these beautiful tin birds for my Christmas tree:
Aren’t they sweet?
I’m also pleased to tell you that Aspire Style is currently offering Guardian readers 10% off all purchases until 19 December – head over to the Guardian website for the code. And always remember – where Molly and the Princess goes, others follow (hehe Guardian!)

My real name is Mary, but have been called Moll since childhood, and Molly since starting this blog - I answer to all three! The Princess is my lovely bike - a Pashley Princess Sovereign.
This blog is about what we get up to in the South West of England and beyond - I pedal the Princess, craft, cook, thrift, sew (and sow). Fuelled by tea.
That dress looks fantastic – and I ADORE the tights! Good ol’ Aspire, eh?! Cx
Thanks Caroline, and yes, good ol’ Aspire!
The ‘tights’ are stockings – I bought them in Fenwicks in London, one of a fabulous range, French I think, but I didn’t keep the label and now can’t remember the maker? Maybe one of my readers would know?
I have heard from the current hosiery buyer at Fenwick who thinks that these stockings are by the label Antipast.
I have found Antipast stockings for sale from Laste boutique in Brighton and online:
http://www.laste.co.uk/index.php
Here is what they say about Antipast:
All the beautiful Antipast socks are designed by the very talented designers, Emiko and Junko, who founded their company in 1989 in Japan. All products are made in Japan [so I was wrong about them possibly being French] and are size medium (fits UK 4-7). Hand wash only.
Unfortunately they don’t seem to stock any Antipast stockings very similar to the ones in the photo above. But they do stock a range called Funn which are worth checking out fellow stocking lovers!
