Happy New Year 2013 one and all!
2012 saw a lot of life-changing – erm – changes for me: change of house, change of work, change of relationship, change of diet … I could go on, but you get the picture. A lot of these changes meant that I have been neglecting this blog, not only because of time restraints, but because a lot of what was happening was so personal that I didn’t want in reflected in my writing.
But, New Year, New Me and all that – and so, New Blog. It’s got a fresh look (though still some tweaking to be done) and I’ve ditched the ‘veggie, vintage and Viennese’ line. Will still sneak in some Vienna material from time to time of course, and here is the obligatory Wiener Werkstätte New Year Card:
Lucky pigs, or in German Glucksschwein were a common motif on New Year cards in across Europe and America at the turn of the 20th Century. Why pigs were considered lucky at this time I do not know. The one that ended up in my (decidedly non-veggie) breakfast this morning certainly wasn’t.
The reason for the change of diet is because I have been exploring Paleo and LCHF (low carb, high fat) diets, and they seem pretty impossible to implement as a veggie. I will no doubt write more about this over the coming weeks. Watch this space. In the meantime, Prosit Neujahr (Happy New Year), and sorry little piggie.
